How to Watch WWE Pay-Per-Views for Free (And it's Legal!)

by Brian Phelps

A lot of people often want to order a WWE Pay-Per-View event, but in this economy who has fifty dollars to blow? Another issue is that many people think that the WWE has jacked up the price of pay-per-views too high since they are now $50 bucks a pop. So, how can you watch WWE pay-per-views for free? A lot of people either download them (which is illegal) through torrents, or find some website that is illegally streaming the pay-per-view instead of ordering them through cable providers or streaming it from the WWE website.

Well, I know how you can watch all the WWE Pay-Per-Views you want for free, and I'm going to tell you how. Eat at Hooters! Every month, Hooters restaurant orders the monthly WWE Pay-Per-Views for their customers so that you can eat and watch a great wrestling show at the same time. So, if there is a Hooters in your area head their on the night of a WWE PPV. Order you a burger and fries, and you could've watched The Rock and John Cena team up for free instead of paying fifty bucks. Hooters purchases the WWE PPV every month, so head over there the next time WWE is airing a PPV instead of struggling to gather up enough buddies to split up the cost of a ppv.

Note: Hooters also airs UFC PPVs for you MMA fans.

WWE Unresolved Storyline: Why Did The Nexus Help Kane Bury the Undertaker Alive at Bragging Rights 2010 PPV?

by Brian Phelps

Since WWE has been getting worse and worse about never resolving storylines, I'm going to start calling them out on stories that were never resolved. I'm going to start calling them out on false advertising. Basically, I'm going to hold them to their words. So every time they don't resolve a story arc I'm going to post on it. I'm going to take you all back to WWE Bragging Rights 2010.

At this pay-per-view, Kane and the Undertaker faced off in a Buried Alive match. If you all remember toward the end of the match, the original Nexus interfered and helped Kane to bury the Undertaker alive. The Nexus interfering made absolutely no sense because they had no beef with either wrestler, and there was no storyline between the Nexus and Kane or Undertaker. So why did they interfere? Why did they help Kane defeat the Undertaker? Well, Wade Barrett came out later and simply said "We have our reasons". So, it was believed that this was going to lead to some sort of crossover storyline between Nexus and Undertaker/Kane. Well, it didn't. In fact, nothing was ever mentioned of it ever again. The WWE simply expected us to forget that the Nexus helped Kane bury Undertaker. This is another story arc that the WWE never resolved and expects us just to forget it ever happened.

The Awesome Truth Break Up As WWE Completely Forgets Conspiracy Storyline

by Brian Phelps

On Monday's RAW Supershow, Awesome Truth officially split up with The Miz hitting the skull crushing finale on R-Truth on the entrance ramp after he duped R-Truth into believing that they were going after John Cena. Honestly, I think breaking these guys up was a mistake on WWE creative's behalf. Why? Well, let's examine the situation.

Why did the Miz and R-Truth form in the first place? They banded together in order to expose the conspiracy that was going on in the WWE. They swore up and down there was a conspiracy that involved holding them back. They implicated Triple H to be involved in this cover up. Then one week they all of a sudden it's like they just forgot that there was ever a conspiracy in the first place. They stopped talking about it, and stopped trying to get to the bottom of it. So, the WWE broke them up without ever solving the conspiracy.

This is the growing issue I have with WWE creative that I've noted in my previous posts about the Kevin Nash story arcs. It's that WWE starts an intriguing story line and then just drops the story all together and expects the fans to just forget about it. What happened to the New Nexus? What happened to the Anonymous RAW GM? What happened to the Conspiracy? Then, you expect me to believe that Awesome Truth would turn on each other off of some claims from John Cena? What doesn't make sense about it is that Cena told Truth that Miz thinks he's crazy, and Truth got all fired up at Miz about it. The thing is, when they first formed The Miz told R-Truth to his face he was out of his mind. So why is he mad now? To me, it came across as a really cheap write off. I've been calling RAW into question now for the last couple of years, but this year so far takes the cake.

Unlikely Team of The Rock and John Cena Prevail at Survivor Series

by Brian Phelps

Well, the verdict is in and as expected The Rock and John Cena were victorious in their match against Awesome Truth. Now, I'm not necessarily complaining about it although I think that the build up to Survivor Series was essentially one big burial of Awesome Truth. The last RAW before Survivor Series saw The Miz and R-Truth getting smoked by Rock and Cena, and then they go into Survivor Series and lose on top of that. In other words, Awesome Truth never presented a real threat as they have been getting dominated the entire time. I thought that was a little odd that they allowed them to get buried the RAW before the pay-per-view. However, if you thought that Rock and Cena would lose at Survivor Series, you're sadly mistaken. I knew that Rock/Cena winning was a given, but I didn't think they would allow them to just dominate Miz and Truth as easily as they did.

The question now is where does the Rock and John Cena rivalry go from here? I mean, the Rock smashed Cena with a Rock Bottom after the match ended which I assumed something like that would probably happen in order to jolt people into remembering that these two are not friends and to send the crowd home happy. I guess the Rock is riding off into the sunset for the next several months until he "finds the time" to show up and make idle threats via satellite again.

CM Punk Defeats Alberto Del Rio at Survivor Series, Regains the WWE Championship

by Brian Phelps
http://wrestlersway.blogspot.com

At Survivor Series, CM Punk walked in the challenger and walked out with the WWE Championship. Punk defeated a game Alberto Del Rio, and kept his eye out for Del Rio's ring announcer Ricardo Rodriguez. The question now is where does the "Voice of the Voiceless" go from here? Last time Punk won the WWE title, we never really got to see his reign go anywhere because John Cena won that imposter WWE title and they had to have that unification match at Summerslam. Punk defeated Cena, but Del Rio immediately cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase moments later so we never actually got to see CM Punk's character go anywhere as champion. Hopefully, WWE will do him justice this time around and we'll get to see what Punk can really do as the champ.

What gets me is that I still don't know what the overall point to Del Rio winning the title back from Cena was. I mean, Del Rio didn't go anywhere as champion. He actually had less momentum as champion then he did before he originally cashed in the MITB briefcase as a challenger. I'm a firm believer that Del Rio's MITB cash in really hurt CM Punk's momentum a couple of months ago, and it was kind of ironic because Del Rio seemed to lose his momentum after he lost to Edge at Wrestlemania. So what was the point of using one guy with lost momentum to derail another guy's white hot momentum? Either way, the fact remains that WWE righted this injustice by finally putting the strap back on Punk. Let's see where Punk goes with it.

WWE Allegedly Takes Cheap Shot at TNA in New "Kliq" Article?

by Brian Phelps
http://wrestlersway.blogspot.com

On WWE.com, a new article written by Ryan Murphy titled "Kliq Speaks Out on Nash, Triple H" provides insight into the background of the Triple H/Kevin Nash feud while taking what could be interpreted as a shot at TNA Wrestling. In the article it stated that,

Did you catch the part where WWE.com said that after a brief stop in WWE in 2002 that Nash seemed to flounder for much of the decade? This seems to be an obvious shot at TNA Wrestling as after WWE opted not to renew Nash's contract in January of 2004, he immediately went to TNA Wrestling in November of 2004 and stayed with the company all the way through January of 2011. So, the comment that he was floundering for much of the decade seemed to be a not-so-subtle shot at his time in TNA. What's funny is that you can't say that Kevin Nash floundered when he was in TNA. Nash had more than his share of moments. He mentored Samoa Joe, feuded with Mick Foley over the Television Title (then known as the Legends Title), joined the Main Event Mafia stable, reformed the nWo (under the name The Band) with Scott Hall and X-Pac, and semi-reformed a nWo Wolfpack tag team with Sting before leaving TNA. He was a two-time TNA Legends Champion (TV Champion) defeating Mick Foley, and a TNA tag team champion with Scott Hall. So to say that Kevin Nash floundered in TNA is a steaming crock of bull.

The funnier part is that Dixie Carter GRANTED Kevin Nash his release from TNA back in January, right after he signed a brand new deal with TNA. She let him go back to WWE which actually hurt TNA as at the time they were teasing a Main Event Mafia return, and it was later reported by WrestlingInc.com that Spike was dealing directly through Eric Bischoff because they lost faith in Dixie after she failed to come through with the Main Event Mafia return. It's amusing that WWE would take appear to take a shot at Kevin Nash's time with TNA Wrestling seeings how Kevin Nash wouldn't have been able to even go back to WWE this year if Dixie Carter hadn't granted him his release.

TNA's Undefeated Crimson Wins Tag Team Gold

by Brian Phelps
http://wrestlersway.blogspot.com

The youth movement brewing within the squared circle at Impact Wrestling continues to strengthen as the still undefeated Crimson steamrolled over Mexican America's Hernandez and Anarquia on his way to his very first taste of gold on the pro circuit. Crimson has now remained undefeated for 9 months and has taken on all comers resulting in impressive victories, including a victory at the grandaddy of them all... Bound For Glory. At Bound For Glory, Crimson defeated Matt Morgan and former TNA World Champion Samoa Joe in a triple threat match. Crimson and Morgan's tag title victory signals a jolt in the otherwise currently stagnant TNA tag team division as Mexican America's reign was mostly a bore as they played the typical archaic foreign bad guys gimmick that should have remained in the 1980's.

Kurt Angle Reveals Himself as James Storms Attacker

by Brian Phelps
http://wrestlersway.blogspot.com

On Thursday's edition of TNA Impact Wrestling, Kurt Angle came forward as the man who attacked James Storm the week before and left him in a pool of blood. This storyline has been rather compelling as James Storm had actually called out AJ Styles and accused him of being the attacker. They had me hooked into believing that AJ Styles was just denying it so that he could attack Storm from behind in a bit of lazy story telling. However, much to my surprise it really wasn't AJ Styles, and Kazarian coming out to separate Storm and Styles was a nice touch as it still portrays the remaining members of Fortune as a family fighting to stay together.

James Storm is coming off as paranoid, but it's understandable as the closest friend of his turned on him (Bobby Roode). It makes sense then that he would be traumatized and start pointing fingers at his other friends. This story actually has me intrigued as I now want to find out why Kurt Angle attacked James Storm, and how AJ Styles will respond to being wrongfully accused. Fantastic storytelling on the part of TNA.

TNA Turning Point 2011 Theme Song (Close Your Eyes - Valleys [Official Music Video])

6 Storylines That WWE Never Resolved in 2011

by Brian Phelps

Recently, the WWE has been writing a lot of interesting stories. The problem is WWE has been really bad lately about not explaining, or just never resolving lengthy storylines. This seems to be a growing trend within the WWE. I'm here to highlight several stories and scenarios that happened this year that WWE just swept under the rug, and never explained.

1) Whatever happened to the New Nexus? Did anyone else notice that one day the New Nexus just wasn't there? They never officially disbanded. After CM Punk defeated John Cena at Money in the Bank he left for a week and came back with a new theme song, lost the New Nexus t-shirt and began his "Best in the World" gimmick. Meanwhile, David Otunga and Michael McGillicutty began coming out to a new theme song and for some reason McGillicutty would be sporting doo rags and backward hats all of a sudden. Mason Ryan seemingly disappeared one day and just now rematerialized a few weeks ago as a face. Then, one day David Otunga just started showing up with a bow tie talking lawyer speak. They had a segment where lawyer Otunga and CM Punk were in the same room, but they acted like the New Nexus never existed.

2) CM Punk never exacts revenge on Kevin Nash for costing him the WWE title. At Summerslam, Kevin Nash came out and attacked CM Punk, costing him the WWE title as Alberto Del Rio cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase and picked up the scraps. CM Punk and Kevin Nash for the next few weeks engaged in back and forth promos and then it was all but certain that CM Punk and Kevin Nash were going to face off in a match. Well, Triple H decided to replace Nash in the match against CM Punk because Triple H got tired of CM Punk bad mouthing his wife. From that point on, CM Punk never exacted revenge and Kevin Nash all of a sudden just stopped bothering CM Punk.

3) Why did Kevin Nash break into Triple H's office to send a text message to himself? WWE never explained why Nash went through all the trouble of breaking into the boss's office to send a text to himself. This had nothing to do with the sledgehammer attack on Triple H, in which Nash said he attacked Triple H because The Game wouldn't reform the Kliq.

4) Why did Kevin Nash speed away in a limo with John Laurinaitis? Why did Nash speed away in a limo with John Laurinaitis the night Triple H fired him? WWE never explained this.

5) Whatever happened to the Anonymous RAW General Manager? The Anonymous RAW GM was there one week, and then gone the next with absolutely no explanation.

6) Whatever happened to the Conspiracy storyline? For months we heard from R-Truth that there was a conspiracy. Then CM Punk spoke of a conspiracy, and then R-Truth convinced The Miz that there was a conspiracy. Add to that the suspicious actions of John Laurinaitis and Kevin Nash and we thought we were on the verge of something huge. Was it Triple H or John Laurinaitis that was behind this conspiracy? Or did Vince have a hand in it? However, Kevin Nash has since claimed that his actions were because Triple H refused to put the Kliq back together, and R-Truth/Miz have just sort of forgotten there was ever a conspiracy all together. John Laurinaitis just walks around mumbling his position in the company. So, now no one is mentioning a conspiracy anymore. Another story arc that was just forgotten about.

RAW 11-14-11: Kevin Nash Attacks Santino Marella... What's the Point?

Boy, WWE has really baffled me with literally everything that's been written for Kevin Nash. None of it makes a lick of sense. Here's the run down. Kevin Nash so far has broken into Triple H's office in order to steal Triple H's cell phone (which he just leaves lying around apparently) in order to send a text message to HIMSELF saying to "stick the winner" of the CM Punk/John Cena title match at Summerslam. WWE never explained why Nash did this. Triple H eventually ends up firing Kevin Nash... as Nash leaves the arena he gets into a limo with John Laurinaitis. WWE never explains why he got into a limo and sped away with John Laurinaitis. Then, Kevin Nash attacks Triple H with a sledgehammer. Nash explains that he attacked Triple H with a sledgehammer because Triple H refused to "put the band back together" (he refused to reform the Kliq). Now, he comes out and for no apparent reason just brutalized Santino Marella and just mutters "I'm here, Triple H isn't!". Does anyone else see how none of this makes ANY sense?  I guess they were trying to build up Nash, but the whole segment just came across as random and pointless. I don't see how brutalizing a comedic jobber like Santino is supposed to intimidate or send a message to Triple H. The only message it sends is one we already knew... that Nash can beat up Santino Marella if he wants to.

In closing, I'm sick of the WWE not explaining their own storylines, and writing stories that lead nowhere. Between Nash sending texts to himself, to CM Punk never exacting any sort of revenge on Kevin Nash, to the Anonymous GM being forgotten, to the whole Conspiracy being forgotten... I'm just baffled. Whoever is writing these stories with no endings needs to be fired.

Official WWE Survivor Series 2011 Theme Song (Flo Rida - Good Feeling [Official Video])

RAW Got Rocked! Who Cares? Why We Have Washed Our Hands of the Rock

by Brian Phelps

Last night, RAW got "Rocked!". At least that was the big tag line for the Rock's return to Monday night Raw. I'm always glad to see the Rock return, but I also have to tell it like it is. The Rock left wrestling behind nearly a decade ago to pursue an acting career in Hollywood. Now, I am all about a man pursuing his dreams, but the way the Rock went about it left a bad taste in my mouth. When he left to go to Hollywood, he wanted to distance himself as far away from his professional wrestling background as he could. He didn't want to be called "The Rock" anymore. He didn't want to be called a professional wrestler. He didn't want to be associated with the WWE anymore.

So, why does Vince McMahon go out of his way to throw the Rock birthday bashes, parties, parades, and a heroes welcome whenever he finally decides to breeze through? The Rock shunned Vince McMahon even though Vince and the WWE is the REASON he was able to go to Hollywood and achieve success elsewhere to begin with. If it wasn't for the WWE, he wouldn't have been the Scorpion King. He wouldn't have been Walking Tall. So, after shunning the WWE and disassociating himself for nearly a decade... Vince gives him the main event to Wrestlemania 28, and a ticky tape parade every time he makes an appearance? Why should Vince McMahon kiss the Rock's butt after the Rock has spent years acting like the WWE and pro wrestling is beneath him now? It should be the other way around.

Then, let's not forget the now infamous promo where The Rock claimed he was back and would never leave again. What rubbed me the wrong way about it is instead of owning up to the fact that he may have exaggerated that claim, he instead claimed that he meant what he said. He claimed that he was back, that he headlined last year's Wrestlemania and he's headlining this years Wrestlemania. When John Cena tried to hold The Rock to what he himself said... The Rock instead claims that just because he said he's back doesn't mean he has to be at every single show... or every single live event. When you say you are back, and are never leaving again.... I don't think that equates to cutting a couple of promos every 4 months via titantron and showing up in person twice a year either. I also think his claim that he headlined last years Wrestlemania was total crap. He "hosted" it. He didn't wrestle so he didn't headline. I just don't like how the Rock made a bunch of petty excuses when John Cena held the Rock to his own words "I'm back and I'm never leaving again".

I don't like how the Rock made excuses instead of owning up to the fact that he simply misspoke about being back and never leaving again. I don't like how the Rock acts like he's giving US a treat by showing up on RAW. Like we should be grateful that he decided to grace us with his presence. I don't like how the Rock acts like we owe him something for showing up once in awhile. No Rock. You should be grateful that we don't boo you out of the arena for acting like you were too good for wrestling for the past 7 years. You should be grateful that we embrace you and cheer you after you shunned us for the red carpet. Even though you didn't want to be associated with us anymore, we still supported you in Hollywood. We still went to see your movies. We saw Fast Five. We saw Faster and Scorpion King.

You can talk all the heat you want to about John Cena. I'm not a big fan of Cena's either, but in his defense John Cena never tried to disassociate himself with his own biggest fan base. He never acted like he was too good for the WWE. He has always embraced us whether we like him or hate him. He never bailed on us like the Rock did. He has never acted like we owe him something for showing up every week.

In closing, I've washed my hands of the Rock. I'm through hanging on his every word. When he said he was back and never leaving again... and then upped and left again the next day... that was the last straw. The Rock talks a big game about how he cares, but his words are so hollow and meaningless. When it comes to him saying he's back, I don't believe anything he says. I'll believe it when I see it. Say what you will about Cena, but Cena has backed up everything he says. The Rock cares about us so much that on the 10th Anniversary edition of Smackdown (a show that was named after him), he couldn't drag himself to show up in person. He submitted some lame video to put up on the titantron. The Rock is that girlfriend that you loved with all your heart that broke up with you, but still comes around every few months to toy with your emotions. That ex-girlfriend that keeps stringing you along months after the relationship ended. Talk all the Boots to Asses you want... but I'm through with the Rock.

Top 5 WCW Wrestlers Who Were Held Back by the Hollywood Hogan Era (1994-1999)

by Brian Phelps
http://wrestlersway.blogspot.com

Over the course of his career, Hulk Hogan has taken not one... but two wrestling promotions to the moon. He spent two decades dominating the sport of professional wrestling. However, while Hulk Hogan was monopolizing the world title and main event scenes in the then WWF (WWE) and now defunct WCW, there were many wrestlers who were held back. I've gone over the Top 5 WWF Wrestlers Who Were Held Back by the Hulkamania Era in the WWF. When Hulk Hogan left Vince McMahon's WWF for Ted Turner's WCW, he came in riding an incredible wave of momentum. There was even a parade for Hogan. Needless to say, there would be a list of talented wrestlers that were held down by the Hollywood Era. Hollywood doesn't entirely refer to his Hollywood Hogan persona. It also refers to Hogan's joining of WCW all together, as he was starring in movies, receiving parades, and even opening restaurants. I'm here to look at the Top 5 WCW wrestlers who were held down by Hogan's WCW run. In other words, the Top 5 who never reached their full potential in WCW.

5) Diamond Dallas Page - In WCW, if Sting was the franchise then Diamond Dallas Page was the company's heart and determination. DDP was never the prettiest guy, but he was a heck of a fighter. Diamond Dallas Page ascended to the top of the WCW mid-card becoming the WCW United States Champion. He took on all comers defending it against any and every one, including a win over Raven in the Steel Cage. It appeared that DDP moving up to the World Title was imminent. However, to do that he would have to get through Hollywood Hogan and the nWo to get it. However, due to Hogan's constant monopoly of the WCW title, it wasn't until the nWo was dead and gone and Hogan was all but through with WCW that Diamond Dallas Page would become the WCW World Heavyweight Champion. Page won the WCW title as the company was beginning it's down hill slide instead of winning it during the company's apex. The same would happen to fellow WCW cohort Booker T.

4) Curt Hennig - The late Curt Hennig is one of the greatest technical wrestlers of all-time. He's right up there with Bret Hart, Benoit, Malenko, and Kurt Angle. During the early '90s, Mr. Perfect couldn't get beyond the mid-card due to Hulkamania. When he went to WCW in the mid '90s, he couldn't get byond the mid-card due to Hollywood Hogan. Hennig couldn't catch a break, and it's a shame because this guy should've been a multi-time World Heavyweight Champion in WCW and WWF/E. Unfortunately, it wasn't to be. One thing I noticed is that the majority of guys that had the potential to come up the ranks and move Hogan out of the picture ended up becoming nWo members themselves or members of some other faction. It was kind of a way to keep them busy while Hogan was on top. Rey Mysterio said that the top guys in WCW would convince the brass that cruiserweights for instance were not top level material.

3) Eddie Guerrero - The late great Eddie Guerrero was another wrestler who was held down during the Hollywood Era in WCW. Often told that he was too little to main event, and that cruiserweights weren't main event talent... Eddie like Rey Mysterio was held down as well. Eddie Guerrero had great showings against "Nature Boy" Ric Flair, yet the brass in WCW still had no confidence in Guerrero. He would never overcome the backstage politics of the Hogans, Nash's, and veteran ex-WWF talent. It is because of this that Eddie Guerrero and the rest of the WCW faction The Revolution (Benoit, Saturn, Malenko) other than Shane Douglas would jump ship to the rival WWF and become The Radicalz. It was from here on that Eddie would realize his potential and become WWE Champion. Sadly, it would also be Eddie's last stand.

2) Chris Jericho - Chris Jericho is yet another wrestler who would be held back by the nWo era. Eric Bischoff famously said that he didn't believe that Chris Jericho could be a headliner. Contrary to what Bischoff thinks, Chris Jericho went on after WCW ignored him to become the first Undisputed WWE Champion. He famously defeated Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock in the same night. He's reinvented his character over the years to remain relevant. In WCW, Jericho was nothing more than an opening match guy. Despite having vast international wrestling experience, and fantastic mic skills Bischoff and the rest of WCW passed over him time and time again. In spite of that, Chris Jericho's character is the embodiment of the Attitude Era and will no doubt go down as one of the greatest of all-time.

1) Scott Hall - Scott Hall is the greatest victim of the Hollywood Era. Some might question this, but hear me out. Scott Hall jumped the guard rail on WCW Nitro and started the Monday Night Wars. He fired the shot heard round the world. However, when they adopted Hogan into the nWo... that put Hogan as the leader instead of what we think of now as a more "modern DX style" co-leadership between Hall and Nash in the same mold that Triple H and Shawn Michaels have recently used over the last few years. With Hogan as the figure head, Hall fell in line behind Hogan and would continue to do so until his own personal demons would force us to see less and less of Hall after 1999. Also, Scott Hall famously won the 3-Ring 60-man battle royal World War 3 in 1997 that was supposed to lead to him getting a world title shot at Starrcade 1997. However, due to the large shadow of Hollywood Hogan and his feud with Sting... Scott Hall wouldn't even get a match at Starrcade. Instead, he was in Eric Bischoff's corner as Eric battled Larry Zbysko. It wouldn't be until I believe Uncensored 1998 that Hall would get the title match he was supposed to get at Starrcade, and due to Sting being at the utter height of his career (and that's saying something) after his pay-per-view record shattering numbers he did against Hollywood at Starrcade... Scott Hall was basically fed to Sting. He would never again get a real world title push thus making Scott Hall the worst victim of the Hollywood Hogan era.
