WWE Plot Hole: How did the Bella Twins Win a Solo Award at the Slammys?

This past Monday on RAW (12-9-13), it was the Slammy Awards. One of the award categories was "Diva of the Year", which the Bella Twins won despite the fact that it's an INDIVIDUAL AWARD.

What doesn't make sense: The Bella Twins won the Diva of the Year Award at the 2013 Slammy Awards. How can two people win a solo award? That'd be like if the Primetime Players won the "Superstar of the Year" award. That makes absolutely no sense. The Diva of the Year is the equivalent of a Most Valuable Player Award. This is part of what's wrong with wrestling today. A complete lack of common sense logic.

WWE Plot Holes: How is Ryback the Number One Contender?

by Brian Phelps

At Extreme Rules, the machine Ryback will take on WWE Champion John Cena for the heavyweight title. One problem though, how did Ryback become the number one contender?

Ryback has lost at every pay per view dating back to October. Ryback has lost at Hell in a Cell, Survivor Series, TLC, Royal Rumble, Elimination Chamber, and Wrestlemania. How on Earth can a guy that has lost at 6 straight pay-per-views be the number one contender? If you include RAW, Ryback has lost his last 3 shots at the WWE Championship.

Here's where the plot hole gets even bigger. Mark Henry defeated Ryback CLEANLY at Wrestlemania 29. The next night on RAW, Mark Henry coming off a win at Wrestlemania was told in order to get a title shot he would have to defeat John Cena in a non-title match (Henry lost by Count Out) just to become the number one contender. Yet, Ryback who had just lost to Henry at Wrestlemania was simply declared the number one contender to face Cena at Extreme Rules. Why did Henry coming off a win over Ryback at Wrestlemania have to defeat Cena in a non-title match just to get a shot at the title, but Ryback who has lost at every pay-per-view for the last six months simply gets a title shot?

Ryback becoming number one contender completely flies in the face of story line and basic sports logic. There is no logical reason that Ryback should be number one contender over Mark Henry or anyone else. This is a major plot hole that cannot be explained.

Just because Ryback attacked Cena on RAW does not mean he's the number one contender. By that logic, the Shield should be the number one contenders to every title in the WWE.

Unresolved WWE Storyline: What happened to John Cena vs The Rock for the WWE Championship at Wrestlemania 28?

by Brian Phelps

After Wrestlemania 27, John Cena told the WWE Universe that at Wrestlemania 28 it was going to be John Cena versus The Rock for the WWE Championship. However, when Wrestlemania 28 rolled around there was no title match on the line. In fact, John Cena wasn't even the WWE Champion. CM Punk was WWE Champion. So what happened to Cena vs Rock for the WWE Championship? This is another example of WWE promising something and then failing to deliver yet again.

Unresolved Storyline: Why did Kane Return With the Mask?

by Brian Phelps

In the latest unresolved storyline from WWE, it has never really been revealed why Kane returned wearing the mask. He just showed up with the mask one day, and never really explained it. I'm glad that Kane is back wearing the mask because I felt that he lost all his aura and mystique after he unmasked; however, I would like a real reason for his masked return. He wasn't injured, burned, beat up or anything. I suspect that we will never get a true explanation though for this masked return. Also, there was no explanation for the entrance mask that he takes off. I'm talking about the one that resembles a welder's mask that he removes, let alone his regular mask. This is an ongoing issue with WWE. They have gotten into quite the habit of never resolving story arcs. Add this to such questions as...

  1. What happened to the Anonymous RAW GM?
  2. What happened to the New Nexus?
  3. Why did the original Nexus help Kane bury the Undertaker alive?
  4. Why did Kevin Nash get into a limousine with John Laurinaitis?
  5. Why didn't CM Punk ever exact revenge on Kevin Nash?
  6. What happened to the 'Conspiracy' story angle?
